Services
Our practice is equipped with the latest, state of the art dental technology available. Our digitalised x-ray system significantly reduces our patients' exposure to radiation; and along with our OPG machine, which provides a full-mouth, comprehensive x-ray, we are able to diagnose patients more quickly and accurately than ever before.
Of course, disease prevention is extremely important to us, and we place an emphasis on good oral hygiene and dietary habits to help stop tooth decay before it becomes a problem. Your oral health is our top priority, and so we make sure to perform an oral cancer screening on all of our patients during every exam. Gum health and proper care should be a real priority for everyone, and dental hygienist Paula Cavanagh looks after our patients with care and expertise.
We love to see to children - ideally before there are any problems! - because creating a happy and positive environment early helps to avoid dental-phobia (and the dental damage it can result in) later in life. Earlier visits allow us to prevent common issues before they ever come up (such as putting sealants on new adult teeth to prevent decay) and also let us spot the early signs of problems like tooth crowding and dental erosion.
For nervous patients we take a slow approach. If it's possible we find it best not to do any actual treatment on the first appointment, but rather spend time discussing the options to build confidence and remove the pressure; but if all else fails, an oral sedative is available for extreme cases.
It's amazing how many people refuse to smile or cover their mouths in photos. Cosmetic dental treatment is something people are becoming more and more interested in. Options such as tooth whitening, veneers, crowns and bridgework have helped to restore people's confidence, both in themselves and in their appearance; even using white fillings instead of metallic as a standard procedure has been a great advance in modern dentistry. Other procedures, like root canal treatment, allow us to save teeth that would previously have to be extracted.
Like everyone else, we are aware of the current financial climate. Patients covered by PRSI are entitled to a free examination every year, and we encourage people. There is a tax refund of 20% available for advanced dental treatments, including gum treatment visits to the hygienist, which we will organise for you. Finally, we can offer further discounts on multiple treatments as well as flexible payment options for advanced work.
